COPPERSTEEL is a bimetallic conductor that combines the mechanical properties of steel with the high conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper. Created from a continuous cladding process where the metals are joined together on an atomic scale to produce a bimetallic material with the best of both metals, it is the smartest option for grounding grid, counterpoise, grounding conductor and various other applications.
GROUNDING AND LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEMS: Properly designed ground systems are essential to adequately discharge extremely high currents, directing them to the ground during lightining surges and short-circuit. The COPPERSTEEL conductors with steel core and copper cladding is the best choice for power generation, transmission and electrical distribution grounding and lightning systems. It offers equivalent performance to bare copper for grounding applications and much higher performance than zinc plated steel for lightning protection, thanks to its longer service life.
TRANSMISSION GROUNDING SYSTEMS: For lightining protection of overhead transmission lines, grounding and earthing systems are vital. COPPERSTEEL conductors offer high strength and corrosion resistance for overhead and grounding applications. On overhead ground wire application, where discharge time are in the order of microseconds, the 21% and 30% IACS COPPERSTEEL conductors have equivalent performance to copper and much higher performance than hot dip galvanized steel wires. When used as counterpoised, the COPPERSTEEL copper cladding technology ensures 40 to 50 years of lifetime, in all types of soil (regardless of pH), up to 6 times more durability than hot dip galvanized steel.
Purpose: Connection between ground rod to cable and cable to cable. Suitable for COPPERSTEEL and copper wires and cables.
Characteristics: Compression connection. High resistance to corrosion. It can be buried directly into the ground or concrete.
Application: Grounding systems in general (power distribution systems, grounding grids, residential, building and industrial grounding), grounding in telecommunication networks, grounding in substations).
Material: Copper alloy, supplied with antioxide compound INTELTROX-Cu.
Purpose: Compressing all copper or aluminum connector types, terminals and lugs from 10 to 300 mm² (8 AWG to 600 MCM) using appropriate die sets. Fast and safe pressing.
Characteristic: Hydraulic plier, 12 t/strength compression usable with type IU (circumferential) and H (hexagonal) interchangeable dies, which must be acquired separately.
Usage: Ideal for general industrial installation maintenances.
Raw material: Especial steel.
Finishing: Anatomical handle with insulation protection up to 1 kV.
Purpose: Compressing all copper or aluminum connector types, terminals and lugs from 6 to 120 mm² (10 AWG to 4/0 MCM) using appropriate die sets. Fast and safe pressing.
Characteristic: Mechanical plier, 4t/strength compression. Two static BG and D3 dies. The D3 works as a seat for other interchangeable IW type dies.
Usage: Ideal for general industrial installation maintenances.
Raw material: Forged steel with thermal treatment against oxidation and corrosion.Wooden handle and practical adjustment control.
Finishing: Superficial treatment against oxidation and corrosion.
Purpose: Compressing all copper or aluminum connector types, terminals and lugs from 10 to 300 mm² (8 AWG to 600 MCM) using appropriate die sets. Fast and safe pressing.
Characteristic: Hydraulic compressor, compressing strength 12 t/strength. Supplied with 3 to 12 m hose for appllication in difficult acess places. Usable with type IU (circumferential) or H (hexagonal) interchangeable dies, that must be acquired separately.
Usage: Ideal for general industrial installation maintenances.
Raw material: Especial steel and anatomical cables with polypropylene handles.
Finishing: Superficial treatment against oxidation and corrosion.
Purpose: Termination of copper conductors.
Characteristics: High electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Pad with several hole diameter options and optimum electrical contact.
Applications: Electrical panels, circuit breaker connections, motors, machines, busbars, electrical distribution boards, among others.
Material: Electrolytic copper.
Finish: Tin plated.
